Amongst the growing global impact of the Covid-19 pandemic we hope that you, your families, and all involved in Kuwait cricket & beyond are safe and well.

This communication aims to give you an overview of the current situation of Kuwait’s domestic cricket in these uncertain times. Of course, with such a fast moving situation, things will change rapidly, but we commit to keeping you updated via KC’s official media & communication channels.

The Public Authority of Sport has declared that no sports activity will take place until the 1st of September by any sports club / federation / in order to limit the spread of Covid-19 in the State of Kuwait. Should there be a change in the date (preponement), keeping in mind the commendable efforts of the Kuwait Government in fighting Covid-19, all sports clubs / associations will be informed in advance.

Kuwait Cricket Club (KCC) has a responsibility to ensure no individual / group within or outside the fraternity violates this law. KCC has also been advised to report and take necessary action against any individual / group organizing cricket activity during the lockdown period.

As the official governing body for the game of cricket in Kuwait affliated to Public Authority of Sport and Kuwait Olympic Committe, the health and safety of players, officials, staff and fans is Kuwait Cricket Club’s top priority when taking these decisions and we must act responsibly in the best interests of all involved and be guided by official advice.

*Ongoing Domestic Tournaments:*

For the ongoing domestic tournaments and remaining matches of KC desert championship, KC T20 Premier league, KC banks league, KC KKPL & others, KCC will first conclude these on top priority before commencing the new season as soon as the Public Authority of Sport resumes outdoor sports activity.

During the knock out stages & finals of the ongoing domestic tournaments (Scheduled to take place in September / October as of today), KCC registered teams will be given a window of 10 days for player transfers & registration (October) for the new domestic season (tournaments) of 2020-21 that will commence in the 1st week of November.

To conclude, all the above timelines are subject to our beloved country Kuwait recovering from the increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in the coming months with the country opening up and coming back to normalcy.
